Automatic Generation Control (AGC) Software Introduction
The automatic generation control and economy dispatching software are used to control generated power of subordinate power plants to ensure secure, effective and economic operation of the power system. It aims at real-time balancing of power supply and demand to accomplish the following targets: 1. Keep power network frequency within allowable error limits; 2. Keep interchanging power between controlled areas to preset value; 3. Coordinate power plants under remote regulation to contribute based on generation cost or bidding prices, so as to obtain maximum economic benefits.
Functions
- Load frequency control (LFC)
- Online economic dispatching (EDC)
- Reserve monitoring (RM)
- AGC performance monitoring
- Unit generation schedule
- Trade schedule and evaluation
- Production cost analysis
- Unit response test
Features
- Provide up to 36 unit control modes, satisfy requirements of units with different characteristics and their coordination.
- Fixed frequency and/or fixed tie-line exchange power control modes, automatically switching under certain conditions.
- Automatic or manual correction of clock error and unplanned exchanging power.
- Direct unit control or centralized control on plant and generator controllers.
- The control instructions of some units may have leading control components, so as to respond to the system load variation predicted by ultra-short term load forecast.
- According to the results of network sensitivity analysis, accomplish tie-line security and stability control based on inverse equivalent pairing load transference principle.
- Dynamic dead zone filter is introduced to eliminate the influence of measure and high frequency noise.
- Online adjustments of generation schedule, meeting power plant daily generation requirement.
- Based on bidding price, the online economy dispatching function determines unit optimal output to minimize purchasing cost.
- Friendly interface to the power market technical supporting system (PMOS-2000) developed by NARI, to acquire generation schedule information conveniently.
Engineering Application
The system has been successfully used in over ten large Power Dispatching Centers including Northwest Regional Dispatching Center, East China Dispatching Center, Guangdong Provincial Dispatching Center, Jiangsu Provincial Dispatching Center and Yunnan Provincial Dispatching Center, etc.
