DSA Distributed Substation Automation System Introduction
DSA Distributed Substation Automation System is an integrated automation system based on mature technology and adapted to medium & low voltage level substations. Besides traditional supervisory control functions, it also has video monitoring function. DSA is suitable for substations with voltage level at 110kV, 66kV, 35kV and below.
DSA's hardware configuration, software design, user's interfaces, substation information sharing, and communication interfaces are all optimized. For large-scale 110kV substation, hardware configuration can be enhanced and system performance upgraded. For medium or small distribution substations, system configuration can be optimized to raise its performance/cost ratio.
Functions
- DSA system adopts open and modular design. Based on Windows NT operating system platform, various supervisory control functions can be realized through different setting, to provide all information needed for protection and fault recording analysis reliably and safely.
- All information is shared across the network. Functions such as line selection of single-phase earth fault, substation complex logic blocking, and reactive voltage control can be realized without additional hardware.
- Distribution function is incorporated in the system, such as primary equipment life-span management, fault insulation information presentation and multi-directional information transfer, etc.
- Integrated video monitor function.
Features
- DSA is a distributed system configured with a series of unit protection, measurement and control devices. These devices can be installed discretely in the substation bays, and operate in adverse environment with strong electromagnetic interference, high temperature and humidity .
- Adopt standard communication protocol and redundant network communication mode to ensure convenient interconnection with devices of other manufacturers.
- Communication control unit and local supervisory control system in the substation control room can communicate with two or more dispatch or control centers simultaneously with different protocols.
- Unit devices are designed individually for different primary devices, integrating protection, measurement and control functions together, which can be installed locally in the switchgear and connected to the communication control unit with cable or optic fiber.
- Protection and supervisory control function can be combined or separated, i.e., either integrated on the panel or discretely installed in the switchgears.
