Integrated Network Management System ECM-INMS for Communication Network

Introduction

ECM-INMS integrated network management system for communication network is based on the design concept of TMN communication network management. It refers to the TMN information system infrastructure, function specification and management service mode, as well as follows the TMN interface standard.

Referring to OSI CMIS management information model, ECM-INMS designs its key MIS service module, provides an open information service interface, supports the client-server data exchange mode, and provides a suit of API interface specification, which ensure the openness of the user application interface, and adoption of the third layer applications.

ECM-INMS provides powerful integrated access function. It can manage many different kinds of communication device and system, and various types of network simultaneously. At the same time, it provides miscellaneous integrated application service to satisfy various network management requirements.

ECM-INMS supports network management system interconnection. It can construct a distributed network management network containing multi level centers, which satisfies the network properties and management requirements of the electricity communication network. ECM-INMS is suitable for the network management of small or backbone and local network of middle- scale private communication.

Objective

  1. Build multi-level network management center for regions, provinces or large bureaus, etc.
  2. Construct a communication network management network by interconnecting network management systems of different level and different standard unified interface to realize data sharing;
  3. By separating the communication device access point and management domain through interconnecting, create the management domain of communication network;
  4. Construct a layered, regional, or intercross management network, and setup a multi-center, and autonomic management mode by assignment of the management level and operating permission, e.g. build multiple standalone a attempter centers to maintain the main management network.

Functions

Application Functions

  • Net unit management layer: manage every net unit (device) directly, at the same time, support the upper layer.
  • Network management layer: coordinate the relationships between net units (device); create, stop and modify network; and analyze network parameters including performance, utilization, etc.
  • Service management layer: Provide the users' interface and organize channel; the interface performance recording and statistics; service recording and expense management.
  • Operation management layer: log recording; maintenance recording; service halt and maintenance arrangement; network development plan, etc.

System Functions
Fault Management

  • Fault detection :figure out the device's exceptions in the network by fault detection and periodic inspection.
  • Fault correction: fault confirmation, worker assignment, recovery confirmation, and maintenance recording.
  • Fault recording: provide all data related to faults including fault data, operation confirmation, work assignment, and recovery record, etc.
  • Notification: fault notification through email, voice, and fatal error warning screen, etc.
  • Device fault diagnosis: Figure out the location, features, type of the fault device according to fault detection result, compos-lion and structure of the network, and device status, etc.
  • Network fault intelligent diagnosis: report the reason of the fault and its influence on network services through intelligent analysis based on the network structure and the interdependent relationships.

Performance Management

  • Collect useful running data; monitor and track performance parameters of the transfer network and the switch network.
  • Analyze and process the network running performance data; provide various network performance reports, find the reason that causes the network performance falling and then carry out corresponding strategy.

Configuration Management

  • Create and adjust physical and logic resource configuration of the network.
  • Display the topology map of the network to reflect the evolution of the network topology after upgrading.
  • Add or delete physical devices in the network.
  • Add or delete the transfer links in the network.
  • Configure and monitor loops in the network for corresponding performance inspection.
