FIS-2000 Power System Relay and Fault Information Management System

Introduction

The FIS-2000 power system relay and fault information management system, based on the power system SCADA system, combined functionalities of SCADA system and fault recording and analysis, is a new type of fault information management system.

FIS-2000 suppport power system monitoring, fault recording and analysis, networked online operation and dispatching management. In normal operation mode, the system support dynamic real-time online supervision to the remote devices. During or after power system disturbance, detailed fault information can be retrieved from power plants and substations to the central station automatically. With the data collected, the power system dispatchers rapidly recognize the nature and location of faults and take quick responding measures. This will greatly shorten the disturbance recovering.

Functions

Retrieve protection trip recording and waveform recording information from substations and power plants, and transmit it to central station according to priorities of information.
Check operational information such as the status of Busbar relays, historical data recording and measurement values of the outstations, and analyze various line fault by checking the waveform recording, to obtain the detailed fault information including fault location, fault type, voltage/current in fault, and harmonics.
Synchronize the system time by GPS.

Provide standard external data interfaces for connecting to other information systems through Ethernet and TCP/IP stack.

Use the XML technology to accomplish resource sharing and seamless connection with the MIS.
Inquire information by relevant stipulations and rules, to get information such as relay action statistics, dynamic information of basic relay constructions, and calculate relaying system performance.

WEB based information broadcast.

Features

The FIS-2000 fault information management system is an automatic fault information retrieve and management system, designed to retrieve, store and analyze the electric power system fault recording and protect equipment trip recording.

The FIS-2000 architecture is Ethernet based, communication stack is the standard TCP/IP. The network support dedicated high speed network connections and dial-up connections. And those 2 kinds of connection can be configured as dual channel redundant. If any fault happens in dedicated network connection, the system will automatically start the dial-up channel to maintain the connection.
